We have consulted the guidelines set forth by the CDC for maintaining safety in food preparation environments, and even though MacroPlate always follows a strict sanitation and food safety protocol, we have implemented certain procedures to ensure our production facility is secured against any threats.

Dear Friends of MacroPlate,


The health and safety of our members, team, and community is our top priority. Amid concerns of the Coronavirus (COVID-19), we are reaching out to inform you of steps that we are taking to ensure the well-being of our members and team. We are actively monitoring the situation and continuously reviewing updates from the Center’s for Disease Control and Prevention, as well as federal, state, and local agencies to confirm that our actions are aligned with the most recent CDC recommendations.


It is important to note that based on the information we have been provided, “there is no evidence to support transmission of COVID-19 associated with food.”


We uphold rigorous cleaning and sanitation requirements within our kitchen in Torrance, California. All of our team members are ServSafe® certified and fully trained to ensure proper maintenance of hygiene and food preparation practices. Additionally, our team has always been required to handle all raw and prepared food with disposable gloves and protective equipment to eliminate any possibility of contamination. Hand washing stations are present throughout our facility, with sanitizer stations present at the entrance and exits to the building.


As always, we remain committed to food safety and the responsible sourcing of ingredients. Our meals are crafted solely in Southern California using ingredients from local farms. We maintain continuous correspondence with vendors to make certain that proper manufacturing and sanitation practices are conducted within the farms. Furthermore, all fruits and vegetables are triple-washed upon receipt to ensure the usage of only the purest ingredients for our meals.


Since we do not operate a retail storefront and do not work with UberEats, Postmates, or similar delivery services, our facility, team members, and meals do not come in into contact with anyone other than our trained team before being packaged and sealed with a zip-tie. This is advantageous in many aspects and ensures that outside elements are not being introduced into our establishment. Though we do not have any staff who are currently ill or experiencing any symptoms whatsoever, we do support our staff in case of sickness and do not permit working while sick.


We appreciate that you have chosen us to provide your healthy, nutrient-dense and well-balanced meals. We will provide updates when available and continue to operate with the highest of health and safety standards. If we could be of service to you in any way, please do not hesitate to contact us.
